Hitan Mehta OBE
Hitan is widely recognised for his lead role in establishing the British Asian Trust as its first ever employee. He is now the Trust’s Chief Executive, having previously served as Executive Director. Hitan also held the role of Head of Operations for The Prince's Charities Events, where he organised a range of commercial activities to raise funds for various charitable causes. He has a proven track record in managing large-scale events, including music concerts, sports events, film screenings, and exhibitions. For nearly two decades, Hitan has worked very closely with His Majesty King Charles III, starting when he was The Prince of Wales.
Hitan has also been actively involved in volunteer work with BAPS – an Indian NGO. He played a key role in organising the international launch of the film "Mystic India” and he is responsible for managing some of BAPS’s key relationships with Royal Families, government, diplomats and major business leaders.
Hitan’s dedication to the charitable sector and his proven track record of success in organising large-scale events makes him a highly respected and valued member of the community and is one of the key recognisable figures in the British Asian Community. Hitan was named as of the 100 most influential people in UK India relations in 2018. Hitan's contributions to British Asian Community and charitable work have been recognised with the award by His Majesty King Charles III of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 2023.
